A C-Store that does double duty and prepares for national expansion.

What if a c-store was just as much a place for convenience as it was a destination to gather with family for a delicious meal and conversation?

NOT YOUR TYPICAL C-STORE

Our engagement with Stripes was anything but typical, which we were introduced to the partnership that is Stripes and Laredo Taco. The goal of this perfect pairing was to unify the two separate ideas into a distinct but unified environment that showcased convenience and authenticity at once.

OVERCOMING C-STORE CHALLENGES

Convenience stores and gas stations present several unique challenges to brands striving to connect with shoppers. That’s why Chute Gerdeman’s designs are based on a system that ensures the strategic success of each concept. We calculate decisions based on a scientific and testable methodology to deliver smart design to our clients. Our team conducted an in-depth research study to collect consumer insights that help the design team (and the Stripes brand) understand and amplify its strengths. The design improvements were based on customer love of the restaurant inside its stores.
Laredo Taco, a brand Stripes now owns, is a beloved dining institution in its home state of Texas. But it was looking to expand. To prepare for new markets, we created a unique brand perspective that connects to their cult following and allow them to reach a new customer all at the same time.

The solution is an infinitely scalable and iconic environment. It’s less reliant on cigarette and gas sales while it’s ready for prime time in new markets. With a focus on authenticity, the proprietary Laredo Taco brand (as well as the Stripes convenience stores in which it resides) is poised to succeed in front of new audiences across the United States.

Design that connects people to the world’s greatest brands.
