Showcasing a distinctive heritage. Cheers to you.
What if a restaurant could pay tribute to a distinctive American innovation that connects people all over the world, all within a relaxed and casual space?
KENTUCKY BOURBON PRIDE
Celebrating this rich heritage of specialized bourbon distilling, Book & Bourbon Southern Kitchen is a dramatic venue specifically created for the Louisville International Airport. Chute Gerdeman was challenged to create a first class, upscale casual dining venue that speaks to bourbon aficionados and the curious novice.
In collaboration with master distillers and bourbon experts, the space is graced with charred oak barrels, historic distillery hardware, and timeless images tracing the history of bourbon. Rich barrel wood planking, weathered copper metal, white subway tile accents and soft lighting sconces harken back to turn of the century distillery environment.

WORLD CLASS // HOME GROWN
With more than 85 bourbons to choose from, education is an important component of the Book & Bourbon experience. Highly trained staff provide info on different bourbon tasting notes, history and the distilling process. The interior design and decor reflects a private-library-meets upscale speakeasy vibe. 1,700 plus vintage bound books line shelves throughout the restaurant and patrons are offered eclectic style “library cards” featuring cocktail recipes to replicate at home.
Every detail highlights the class, charm and bourbon heritage of the region. A small retail area makes it fun and easy for guests to pick up bar equipment, a wide variety of shrubs and bitters, or logoed apparel.
