RETAIL EXPERIENCE DESIGN
Whatever the next store is, it has to work.
A first prototype. A refresh. A rollout. A rebrand that has to survive contact with a real room. Different projects, one standard: the store has to do something for the business, and you have to be able to tell whether it did.
Yours, or the one you are about to compete with.
Brands arrive here from four places.
START WHERE YOU ARE
One
We are opening our first real store.
The brand works everywhere except in a room. The first store will teach the market who you are, once, and there is no second first impression.
Two
The prototype exists. Now it has to repeat.
What was designed as a flagship was priced as a flagship. Rolling it out breaks the budget or breaks the design.
Three
The fleet no longer looks like the brand.
The brand moved on and the stores did not. Every year the gap gets more expensive to close.
Four
The store is fine. The numbers are not.
People walk in and walk out, or the remodel cannot prove it paid for itself. Something in the visit needs watching, not guessing.
Think
Before anything is drawn, understand what the store is failing to do for the person standing in it. Strategy comes from watching, not from decks.
Create
Design the environment so the brand’s promise is the thing a customer experiences, not the thing a sign announces.
Scale
Turn the concept into standards and documentation that survive the hundredth location, so the store that opens in year three matches the one that won the approval.
Stores you have already walked through.
Since 1989, brands including Altar’d State, Yankee Candle, Giant, El Pollo Loco, and Xfinity have brought the studio the same four situations. The work is the answer.

Connect with Us
Tell us about the store in front of you.
The one on your books, the one on your whiteboard, or the one your competitor just opened. Walk it with us, in person or on a call, and leave with a sharper read on what it needs to do, whatever you decide about who builds it.
Bold ideas. Fresh experiences.
