| Cheap and Chic: Store Makeover on a Budget |

WSA Today invited Chute Gerdeman’s Bess Anderson, Director of Visual Strategy, to critique Pashmere, a boutique in Smyrna, Georgia. In the January issue, Bess offers suggestions on how to give Pashmere a fresh, new look on a budget.
The unique women’s boutique needed a more whimsical and feminine fashion look to draw customers in and make them feel comfortable. In an effort to encourage customers to browse the shoe selection, Bess suggests adding old fashioned cake plates as risers to the center of a new, round table, “Shoes displayed on these risers will look yummy and irresistible, like cupcakes.”

Bess suggests further emphasizing the colorful product by creating a clean white palette and adding ornate frames to the wall cut-outs that feature new arrivals. A larger, framed mirror leans against one wall so customers don’t have to head to the fitting rooms to see the shoes they’re trying on. And they can see a complete head-to-toe look!
Call us to learn more about Bess’s DIY makeover. She would love to share her insights with you on what’s new in shoe retailing or to give you some quick fix visual ideas you can incorporate into your own store.
