Chute Gerdeman Wins Two More Awards for Retail Design

Columbus, OH—Chute Gerdeman Retail, the Columbus-based retail design firm that has received numerous honors for its design leadership, is adding two more awards to its list.

The company has won two first place awards in the 25th annual Store of the Year retail design competition sponsored by Chain Store Age, the news magazine for corporate retail executives:

  • M&M’S World® store in Orlando, FL, received top honors in the Attraction Retailing category
  • Lane Bryant Cacique in Pembroke Pines, FL, led the way among Soft Lines retailers, 5,000 to 15,000 sq. ft.

The competition attracted entries from around the world. Judges included Karen Meskey-Wilson, Divisional Vice President, store planning and design, Federated Department Stores; Ron Brunette, Vice President, store environments, Circuit City; Rick Migliorelli, Vice President, store development, Ann Taylor Stores; Allen Kieffer, Vice President, construction, Guess?; and George Holz, Director of Construction, Foot Locker. Winners will be profiled in the February issue of the magazine.

Chute Gerdeman Principal Dennis Gerdeman will be among the honorees at a gala awards dinner March 3 at Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort, Orlando, FL.

The colorful and fun M&M’S World® Orlando store has won numerous awards, including most recently the International Store of the Year in the annual ISP/VM+SD International Store Design Awards.
