Chute Gerdeman wins big in Retail Design Institute’s International Store Design competition

January 17, 2012 — Chute Gerdeman, the Columbus, OH-based strategic retail branding and design firm, received a First Place award last night at Retail Design Institute’s Store Design Awards gala.

The C&A Iguatemi flagship store took home a First Place Award in the New or Completely Renovated Department Store category.

“Our relationship history with C&A has been long, collaborative and creative. Being recognized in this department store category makes our work on Iguatemi and our friendships with this client even more meaningful,” said Chute Gerdeman’s VP, Brand & Marketing, Jay Highland

C&A Brazil’s new flagship store in São Paulo’s Shopping Center Iguatemi takes the fast-fashion retailer’s brand to new heights of glamour and luxury. The store creates an entirely new C&A brand experience for the Iguatemi shopper—elevating the in-store environment through luxurious material finishes, arresting visual presentation, iconic architecture, compelling brand messaging and unique customer services, all geared to the targeted Iguatemi female shopper.

“It was a visual merchandising dream job—custom fixturing, unique wall presentations, mannequin displays and product merchandising strategy all integrated into a complete fashion world for the C&A Iguatemi shopper,” said Bess Liscio, VP of Visual Strategy at Chute Gerdeman.

The Retail Design Institute’s International Store Design Competition is always hard fought, and this year was no exception. There were over 100 entries representing projects and architects, designers and retailers from around the world.
